I'm looking to open the sidr window in a block rather than sideways loading from the bottom up.
How could I do this?

Since the module depends on the Sidr libraries, this seems to be a request for the Sidr JS library. The Sidr JS library powering this module doesn't support this kind of behavior, hence, I'm afraid there's not much I can do about it. Feel free to experiment and make suggestions to the Sidr JS repo on GitHub.
