Hi all,

When I try to delete the images in the IMCE UI, it shows "XX.JPG is in use by another application" even I already delete the the image in the text editor, did anyone know how to fix?

Thanks,
Tony

Hello @tonytsang,
can you wright the steps to reproduce the issue?
I don't have this problem.

Are you sure that the image is not used any where else?

Cheers, Paulo.

Hi Paulo,

Yes, as the image already delete from user, so it is not used any where else, but I am wonder will this cause by the revision, as we enable the revision of every content page, so is it possible the image is locked by the the old revision so make it cannot delete?

Regards,
Tony

Yes @tonytsang. If you have the "Create new revision" enable, the revisions created lock the image so it is not possible to remove the image.
If you delete the revisions that lock the image, you can delete the image but I think it is not the best solution for you.

Cheers, Paulo.

This usually happens when the image is uploaded by Drupal image tool and you try delete by IMCE

For me, this is happen when user upload through IMCE but still cannot delete in the IMCE

Apparently happen the described in #4, so you need delete the revisions to delete the image, so I think IMCE are doing this correctly

Since it is very difficult to find out all the revisions that contain this images as our site is largely updating by different users, is it possible to add the force delete option to delete it?

Hello @all,

I created a new issue because comment #11 is requesting for a new feature.
I created a patch for it in issue #3166956: Enable to delete file even if drupal is using it. (NOT IMPLEMENTED YET).

Maybe you can review there and I think we can close this issue.

Cheers, Paulo.
