When a screen reader user is navigating through the page, they are not alerted to the cookie consent form until they get to the bottom of the web page.

Updating the cookie consent markup to include role="alertdialog" should fix this issue.

Use of the "alertdialog" role requires that the following tags also be added:

  • aria-label or aria-labelledby
  • aria-describedby
