It looks to me that both </code> and <code> are not used within this module.
They are not included in inline_entity_form.libraries.yml nor anywhere else in the code as far as I can see.

I think (as with issue inline_entity_form\js\inline_entity_form.js Hasn't got any useful code in it) they are a leftover of an initial 1-on-1 D7=>D8 port and weren't removed afterwards .

The files are identical to the D7 ones, inline_entity_form.css and inline_entity_form.seven.css

I say: Kill 'em with fire!
