the purpose of our new small drupical module will be to show a block of drupal related events in the admin backend.
currently WordPress has such a feature since a while. We aim to create a small block which can be placed in the admin area and is powered by the d.o events stream.
infos about the WordPress Plugin: https://make.wordpress.org/core/2017/04/14/nearby-wordpress-events/
endpoints which could be used:
JSON https://www.drupal.org/api-d7/node.json?type=event
REST https://www.drupal.org/drupalorg/docs/apis/rest-and-other-apis
Or use our view directly https://www.drupical.com/?continent=EU&layout=simple
We should support in the config:
- select continent
- select country
- select category (supportet: drupalcon,drupalcamp,contribution,training,drupalfest,localmeetup)
the filter to set, and if we use the widget directly, we can pass over the "layout=simple" parameter to the url
https://www.drupical.com/?continent=EU&country=Netherlands&layout=simple
done: p.s.: drupical is currently rebuild in d8. Backend is nearly done and new frontend will be ready end of the year.

We already got our drupical community project moved to a module page and we will contribute this block here.
