This module is being used by over 1,000+ D8 sites now. We're using it in the Varbase distro as it adds a missing UX enhancements for admins.

Instead of keeping the D8 version a dev version, can you release at least an alpha release, this will make the module usable for composer-based projects and gives a push forward for people to start testing it on their D8 sites.

Please let me know if you can do the alpha release, or simple add me as a maintainer and I can manage the release process.

Thanks a lot!

Thank you for your offer, Mohammed J. Razem! I'm definitely interested.

Do you realize that considerable functionality in the D7 version is still missing from the D8 version?

Also, there are a bunch of problems in the D7 version that should be addressed in the D8 version. Have you actively worked with ME? Also on a multi-lingual site?

Is there a list of functionality that needs to be implemented? Can't find a tracking issue.

@salvis,

We're interested to maintain the D8 version and also have it ready to D9.

Most of work we do is multilingual and we have Mail Editor module included in the Varbase distribution.

@salvis, any chance you can at least release a D8 version? We also would like to create a D9 version.

My focus is to have the module with a tag release. At least as an alpha version.
I think this is more important that finding a maintainer who can "do it all" and introduce new functionality.

Looking forward to have a positive response.

BTW, I will not fix the module myself, but my team from Vardot will be working on patching the issues. We have a dedicated team who works on contributing to module that are used by the Varbase distro.

I am closing this issue, since there haven't been follow-up actions as described in Taking over unsupported (abandoned) projects.
