#3019458: Possibility to add additional header and footer to email notification
We have added the possibility to add an additional header or footer to email notifications. This allows you to give a personal touch to your platform notifications.

#3065367: Ability to create custom blocks with topics list
We added the possibility to create a new type of custom block to use on your landing pages. This block contains a list of topic teasers based on your selection of filters (filters like content tags, groups and topic types). You get all this awesomeness if you enable the social_content_block module!

#2882629: Sort comments in date ascending order (DS-6509)
Comments that are shown in the activity stream used to be sorted from newest to oldest. This can be confusing when trying to follow a thread of comments. We have now ensured the comments are sorted the other way around, which provides a more natural conversational flow of comments.

#3045903: Private messages permission improvements
We have added extra permission checks for using the Private message functionality. Users without the use private messaging system permission will now not be able to use private messages. This provides some extra flexibility for you!

#3062756: As a CA I would like to set up the "Reply-to" email when emailing multiple users
When sending emails to one or more members of the platform using either the people overview, manage members or manage enrollment mailing options, you are now able to also configure the “from” email address (in other words, from who the email is sent from). This way, users can reply to a different email address than the sitewide one.

#2948979: Improve search relevancy (node type, creation date and title boost)
We have improved the search relevancy options for the default search. We have ensured there is a fallback on the creation date, so that when all relevancy scores are the same, the newest created item is displayed first.

Also, when your search term is part of the title, it gets ranked much higher than before and, last but not least, if you search for content types like events as part of the search string it will rank all Events higher. Happy searching!

#2983330: Rename "Swiftmailer settings" to "E-mail settings"
We renamed the Admin menu item ‘Swiftmailer settings’ to ‘Email settings’. This reflects the purpose of this menu item, where you can remove Open Social branding from your emails.

#3029695: The navigation (header) menu bar should work without javascript
If you have javascript disabled, menu items will now dropdown on focus like you are used to!

#289670: Limit field instance to certain link types
You can now sort Topics by the published date on group topics and all topic overviews.

#3062164: The visibility type of content in overviews should be more clear
We now clearly indicate the selected visibility for content in overviews and on the stream. This helps indicate which users are able to see the content.

#3029706: The search button in lightbox invisible when the menu colour is white
If your color scheme involved a white header, the search button would disappear due to it being white as well. We have now ensured it will follow the color scheme settings for all the links in the header menu, so it will have the same color as the other links.

#3045770: Add label to textarea forms on the activity stream page
The search forms now have a hidden label, thereby increasing accessibility.

#3065016: Hero region was removed for pages that have /add or /edit or /delete as part of the URL.
If you have a custom URL that contains the words edit, delete or update as part of the URL the hero region might have been removed. We have ensured this works.

#3046160: As a LU I want to see more information about the item in email notifications I get
We have improved email notifications for new posts, comments and replies so users get more context immediately and know what is going on in the email. For example, when someone adds a comment to an Event you’re following you will now see something like this:

#3032407: Refactor page hero block
Before, it was hard for developers to have a different hero for different content types. We moved hero logic from page-hero-data.html.twig to node--hero.html.twig so now it's easier to extend it.

#3068038: Unpublished posts are not reachable for Site manager to make them published again
SM & CM should now be able to access the administrative overview for posts, on this overview we have a list of posts and its author and content available now including the status. Also we made sure we fixed any activity items shown for unpublished posts are neatly not shown anymore.

New Group types

#3055164: As a LU I want to create a Flexible Group
This group type allows you to customise the way members can join groups and the content visibility options for the content inside this group. Also, we will now clearly indicate these new options, for flexible groups and all the others as well in the teaser and hero information for these groups.

#2898087: Create "secret" group type/Private groups
There is now a new group type called Secret group. The function of it is secret…
Just kidding! This group and its content is only visible for members and content managers and site managers, to ensure it’s privacy.

Performance & UX improvements

#2984283: Add throbber indicator when uploading image or file in comment, post or node
When uploading an image in any type of content as a file attachment (post, comment and topic, for example) there is now a loader which indicates that the user should wait for the image to upload.

#3065011: Lazy loading - Embedded media
We will help increase performance of your communities by starting to implement something called lazy loading. This means that we will only load embedded media assets, like videos, when they are visible on your screen.
