When I add a media item in the WYSIWYG editor, then select it, and add a link with the linkit button, i wil get a json array as result.
Links to normal text are succesfully added.

Fixed in Linkit-issue for older versions: #2928217: Attempting to add a link around a media module inserted image causes Javascript error
But in version 3.5 the issue seems fixed also, so upgrading to the latest version seems the best path.
