I'm using header image to place 2 images in my header- one design image and one featured block.

I need for the image not to link to the image node, but to an alternate page like the home page or featured page.

Is there a way to make it not link to the image node?

Create a node with content: Only local images are allowed. That image will link to any destination you like.
