In #3052037: One of my Git commit is auto posting new comments to the issue endlessly, I found that some of our queued items were taking longer than the default 60 second time to run (TTR) to process. In this case Beanstalkd releases the item to be attempted again.

From https://github.com/beanstalkd/beanstalkd/blob/master/doc/protocol.txt#L309

The "touch" command allows a worker to request more time to work on a job.
This is useful for jobs that potentially take a long time

Ideally something in runqueue.sh would send touch commands when a job is approaching its TTR and the worker callback is still running. We use forked processes, so keeping track of the forked child processes could work. Or potentially something self-contained in beanstalkd_process_item() if one of the threading extensions in PHP works well enough.
