svenryen commentedThe module works as intended, and if you choose the "consent by default" method, the message makes sense.
The string you're referring to probably hasn't been changed since 2012, and is a good candidate for an upgrade.
Since we're revisiting the banner texts, I'd like to change the following defaults:

progzy commentedOK, that's right. Thank you!

pryrios commentedJust to add on this, I think that this issue needs further consideration.
I am using the opt-in method without categories and I would like the module to accept cookies if the user browses to next page, after informing him of such.
This is valid under the "unambiguous and clear affirmative action" if presented alongside the "No, thanks" button. I am giving choice to the user and the guidelines to accept or reject the cookies.
What I would like for my site is:
If the user clicks the accept button or clicks a link within the page, they agree to cookies. If they explicitly click on the disagree button, they do not agree to cookies and they do not load.
Right now, the banner keeps appearing as long as the user browses the site ignoring it, so he is not accepting or denying the cookies explicitly and is rejecting them implicitly (which is also not an unambiguous and clear affirmative action either).

svenryen commented@Pryrios I'm not qualified to give legal advise.
What you are looking for is called "Opt-out" and exists already. If that option is selected the user gives consent by using the site, unless they explicitly click the "No thanks" button.
If you agree, we can open up a new feature request issue for your request that the "Opt-out" banner disappears on clicking a link. Does that sound ok? Did I cover everything?
pryrios commented@svenryen not quite, but I agree this should be discussed in a new issue. I am opening it.
