Please grant the 'confirmed' user role. I'm a Web Developer for Trent University in Ontario, Canada - definitely not a spammer or a bot. I've created a few issues, most recently one on Drupal core which has been 'detected as spam' because I'm unconfirmed, having never been 'automatically' upgraded.
