Problem/Motivation
Recently we introduced deprecation testing with PHPStan to have a clean code base and less stuff to do when D9 arrives. But being on top of the state clashes with supporting all currently supported core releases. Currently, 8.5 is still security supported, but we don't support it.
When D8.7 is released we still want to support D8.6. That brings us the burden, that we have to test Thunder with 8.6 and 8.7.
Proposed resolution
In order to test Thunder with 8.6 and 8.7 we have to run our testing env with different core versions. Currently, our testing scripts are very complex and they are getting more complex with every new env var we introduce.
To get rid of some complexity and be prepared for 8.7, we should introduce the travis stages. Travis stages can also be nicely triggered by various types like (PR, cron, commit message)

chr.fritschOne thing we have to add then is that depreciation testing is only allowed for 8.6
