In D7 making a view of content with entity reference fields has the options of two different kinds of relationships,

1. "Entity Reference: Referenced Entity " and
2. "Entity Reference: Referencing entity"

which are accompanied by clear descriptions of what this means.

In D8 there are options of the form

1. Content referenced from field_x
2. Content using field_x

Without clear descriptions.

I'm guessing that options 1 and 2 between 7 and 8 correspond, but I thought I'd check in this queue, and if I'm correct perhaps this could be a change request that user interface to be better labelled/documented.

I agree that the wording for this can be a lot better (I still puzzle over this occasionally too), I'm not sure using A bridge to is that much better. Tagging for 'documentation' so maybe somebody from that team has an idea (or sign off on this proposal).

Can we get an update to the IS to reflect the current fix and the choices that were made coming to the current wording?

Patch for Drupal version 10.1.x

Version: 10.1.x-dev » 11.x-dev

Drupal core is moving towards using a “main” branch. As an interim step, a new 11.x branch has been opened, as Drupal.org infrastructure cannot currently fully support a branch named main. New developments and disruptive changes should now be targeted for the 11.x branch, which currently accepts only minor-version allowed changes. For more information, see the Drupal core minor version schedule and the Allowed changes during the Drupal core release cycle.

Version: 11.x-dev » main

Drupal core is now using the main branch as the primary development branch. New developments and disruptive changes should now be targeted to the main branch.
