It appears that the 8.x-1.x-dev branch has not been updated on Drupal.org since 2017. However, it seems like LiveChat has been maintaining their own, up-to-date, 8.x version of the project on their private GitHub repository: https://github.com/livechat/integration-drupal (Updated as recently as December 2018).

My current employer Elevated Third has been making use of the 8.x version of this module from the LiveChat GitHub repository for some time on production site for our clients. With that in mind, we'd like to offer to become (co-)maintainer of this project on Drupal.org, so that we can help maintain an official 8.x release of the module on Drupal.org to be used by the community without needing to pull the module from an external repository (which currently leads users to experience an "Unsupported module" error message for LiveChat within the Drupal 8 admin interface).

We are willing to communicate and coordinate with the developers at LiveChat to ensure that the latest code from their GitHub repository is ported to the Drupal.org project in a timely manner, so that Drupal users may begin to rely on the 8.x version of the module directly from Drupal.org. We will be opening an issue on the LiveChat GitHub repository to state these same intentions to the LiveChat developers there directly.
