https://www.drupal.org/drupalorg/software references for drupal.org reports Drupal 7 is being used. I believe Drupal 8 is being used now. Updating the documentation may change the referenced Core/Contributed Modules that appears in the content. Last update was 2014-05-13.

Drupal.org still runs on Drupal 7, so the documentation is correct. From the source of any Drupal.org page, it is visible what Drupal version is actually used.
