Request for 'confirmed' role

I am relatively new to Drupal. Our organization has been using drupal for about 4 years now. I recently have been given the task of web master. I am in the process of migrating from version 7 to version 8. I have been coming across some issues that I have not been able to solve on my own. I have been coding with PHP for over 15 years. This issue with the sort I have not been able to figure out as far as accomplishing it from the GUI.
