I have a two column (AdaptiveTheme) layout chosen. I add an HTML group and move it to column two in the layout. It declines to stay there, and in fact appears to jump back to column 1 of its own accord.

I am experiencing the same error (since updating to 8.x-3.0-rc1).
* I move a HTML group to a another region than the first region
* Save
* and the field group is back in the first region

I already applied the patch #2907094 Make paragraphs module working with field_group version 3.x with support for the field_layout module, #76.

I also tried patch #2986704 Incompatibility with inline entity form, #3 but this is also not helping.

I updated the title since I think the correct term is "region" not "column" and changed the priority to major ("module not usable").

same here... :(
it seems it came when the blockgroup is moved... the "ajax" save before i clic on save for the display mode.

i don't know if i'm "clear"...
