We currently have 7.x-1.23+20-dev installed.
If the user clicks the button to disagree / does not give consent, then the pop up banner disappears. There is no way to give consent again until the cookie has expired or is manually deleted.
After a user clicks disagree, the Privacy Setting tab should appear so users could decide to opt-in again.
User scenario: The module has been configured to block Javascript and Cookies rendering the site essentially useless if they don't give consent. The user clicks button to NOT give consent and pop up banner disappears. They finally discover the site is useless and now have decided they want to accept the agreement so they can use the site.

svenryen commentedGood point. Are you interested in making a patch, or can you drum up some manpower for that? Perhaps your company would be interested in sponsoring the feature?

vasrush commentedA simple patch for current 7.x-1.x-dev that do this.
It only works after page reload.
svenryen commentedGood start, but I think we need to provide a bit more meat on the bone than this.
svenryen commentedOn second thought I think this looks ok. Adding the code to -dev now.

phobosk commented@svenryen,
I don't think this patch is the right way to fix the issue...
With the proposed (and already released in 7.x-1.24) code there is a not so good side effect like this:
The way I see it there are two ways to overcome this issue:
Very good work with this module btw... I love it :)

svenryen commentedThanks for spotting this. I knew there was something missing from the patch, just couldn't remember what precisely needed to be done. Thanks for outlining it in detail. I'll work on this soon. Patches are also welcome!

svenryen commentedI'm reverting this commit for now, and we'll get back to it once some other issues are sorted out.
fox mulder commentedPatch attached ( for current 7.x-1.x-dev ) that implements 2. suggestion of #9 post.
I think so it's not the final solution and needs more work...
panebianco commentedPlease, I can't apply the patch. Which version of eu_cookie_compliance does it apply?
fox mulder commented#15 patch based on 7.x-1.x latest dev
Comment #18
panebianco commentedOk, it's the same I'm using but Applying patch it gives some errors regarding eu_cookie_compliance.js and eu_cookie_compliance.css, so I applied the path manually . The resul is that the banner of eu_cookie_compliance doesn't appear at all. I do not know why. I cleared cache and all cookies too.
Can you post the files you patched, please?

norman.lolIn the meantime you can use the little script from https://www.drupal.org/project/eu_cookie_compliance/issues/2985390#comme... to provide a clickable element to toggle the withdraw/(re)accept action.
svenryen commentedMarkup would have to be better than this, or it can be removed :)
I wonder if this can be done in a simpler way without complicating the entire flow of the module.
Also, categories are missing from the "Opt in again " banner.
anybodyI guess we can close this fixed now and proceed in #2985390: [1.x] Option to place Withdraw Button anywhere on site (e.g. in block) with the given patches?
This issue is hard to read with its many commits and there are several issues referring the current implementation state. Otherwise please reopen @svenryen!
norman.lolI'd let the maintainer close the issue, not letting them reopen it.
norman.lolThat said, thank you for your current activity. Maybe you should ask to become a co-maintainer?
anybodyThank you @leymannx, @svenryen is doing an amazing job with this module. I'm happy to help, perhaps he'll offer Co-maintainership one day, but I won't ask for it. Thank you all very much.
