When I try to open the dialog:
untimeException: Controller "Drupal\private_message_nodejs\Form\PrivateMessageNodejsForm::buildForm()" requires that you provide a value for the "$formState" argument (because there is no default value or because there is a non optional argument after this one). in Drupal\Core\Controller\ControllerResolver->doGetArguments() (line 165 of /var/www/tokalok/public_html/core/lib/Drupal/Core/Controller/ControllerResolver.php).

Hi, is the problem fixed for you?
If I activate the nodejs sub-module, I can create a message.
If the sub module nodejs is not enabled, I have the above error.

jaypanI'm unable to reproduce this - I think it may have been fixed in the current set of updates. If you are still seeing the problem, please re-open the thread and provide information on how to reproduce.

zenimagine commentedI still encounter the same error with the latest version. If the nodejs module is installed, there is no error.
