If I purchase a gift card and print it, can I redeem it at the store? QR reader?

I am trying to think through this.

I am creating a neighborhood marketplace.

I am creating a gift card that can be used at a few neighborhood stores.

I can setup my site to offer the gift card.

But how do I allow someone to redeem at at a store?

Is there a QR reader I could use?
