2. Will require core 8.5 dependency so it'll be better to wait until 8.5 or even 8.6 is released.

@giorgio79 I don't see how #2401797: Introduce a batch builder class to make the batch API easier to use is a parent issue. But yeah it is related as for 8.6.x vbo can be updated to use it.
