The IMCE for FileField module allows users to select files via the IMCE File Browser. When installed, a site builder can check the 'Allow users to select files from IMCE...' checkbox for a File field, meaning that content editors can select a previously uploaded file rather than having to (re-)upload an audio file to the web server.

On a site with the Audiofield module installed, changing Widget Type for a Filefield from File to Audio Upload causes the IMCE 'Allow users...' checkbox to disappear from the Edit Field screen.

It would be great if Audiofield integrated with IMCE for Filefield.

D7 reached its EOL back in January 2025, and there is no active release for D7 for this module anymore.
Development or support is not planned for D7. All D7-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.
