If you are using links [like this][id] it won't work in the teaser as well as in the preview if the "
" tag is before it.
I think Drupal is cutting the part and then converting it with Markdown language. I think Drupal should do the opposite. First it translates with Mardown, then it cuts where he things it's the best.

teradome CreditAttribution: teradome commentedThis seems to be a general problem with teasers, as it only determines good places to break a post apart via HTML tags. I'm not sure what I can do from my end, but you might want to submit a bug report like this to the node.module project.
The only thing I can suggest for the time being is to manually choose your teaser cut-off point using "<--break-->" in the post's body.
