This issue is a plan for the first RC for VBO 8.x-1.0.

In general, module automated tests need to be extended to ensure that majority of future bugs will be caught without human overhead.

One more functional change I'd also like to have is splitting list population batch from the processing batch (select all), so the progress bar doesn't start from half anymore (the first batch is much quicker in most cases).

With regards to #2926713: General code review, I did a general code review and cleanup myself. It'd be great if someone else looked at the code, but as I mentioned in the issue, it'll not be a blocker for the RC.

If tests pass, we can have the RC1 tomorrow.

If no new issues will arise, the stable version will be the same as the rc1. There is a possibility that #2920068: Make it easier to enable VBO will make it's way to the 1.0, but it'll rather be introduced later, it's a delicate issue as it alters the core bulk form functionality.
