Problem/Motivation

In the topic Adding a reference field, the Drupal core behavior during field settings steps has been recently updated. We need to update the steps and the table of settings values in this topic (structure-adding-reference) to match the current UI.

Proposed resolution

Fix the topic.

Remaining tasks

1. Follow the steps in the topic.
2. See if the steps and settings field values in the tables still work or need some adjustment.
3. Make a patch for the structure-adding-reference.asciidoc file to adjust the steps/tables.

Original issue report

Hi,

In the User Guide > 6.7. Adding a Reference Field > under 'Steps' section > in the table in point #4,
the value of 'Sort by' field name should be 'Vendor name' instead of 'Title'.

Kindly make this correction if it is valid.

Thanks, but actually I think this is due to a Drupal core bug:
#2900409: [Meta] Improve UI of Reference field settings form
It was also mentioned in
#2900226: Tables of fields/values are inconsistent regarding fieldsets.

The Core issue that was causing this behavior has finally been resolved. We need to test the UI and update it to the current behavior, which (as noted here) I think is that the title field is labeled "Vendor name" when creating a reference field that references content only of the Vendor content item. The UI for reference fields has slightly changed as well, so we need to verify that the steps are correct.

I checked the values against the UI and did not find other issues than the ones already mentioned above. The screenshot does not need updating because the changed value is not visible in the screenshot.
