Make entityType and entityInfo protected instead of private in views style plugin

In leaflet_views/src/Plugin/views/style/LeafletMap.php the $entityType and $entityInfo properties are declared as private:

  /**
   * The Entity type property.
   *
   * @var string
   */
  private $entityType;
 
   /**
    * The Entity Info service property.
    *
    * @var string
    */
-  private $entityInfo;

This prevents plugins that extend this class from using these properties. Is there a reason for these properties not to be protected?
