After deinstalling the path.module node/add/[whatever] is just showing the title to edit. All other fields disapeared.
Enabling path.module, clearing cache and so on doesn't help.
I think in general there is no need to have the path.module mandantory.

That is interesting—I tried this myself. When one uninstalls the path module they are shown the configuration warning:

You can edit the form display and return the desired fields to the visible part of the form. I'll postpone this in case someone can identify a bug.

I'm having the same, when I'm doing it through the web interface.
But I'm getting no warning, when doing it by "drush pmu path" (how I'm usually doing).

This is the standard reminder that Drush <> Drupal core. I suggest you open a feature request on Drush's issue queue and that we close this.

I don't think we should close this. The problem is very similar to #2468045: When deleting a content type field, users do not realize the related View also is deleted so core really needs to do better than that confirmation screen.
