When viewfild is enabled, I get duplicated options for other field types. One of them is the same as the viefield option itself. here is a screenshot:

The duplicates are inherited from EntityReferenceItem so need to be cleared. Should work now.

True, this is a duplicate of #2863871: Duplicate core entity reference field types, see the commit here.
We just didn't have another (beta)release in almost two years... :/
