In installed the module, but before I could use it I get an error like this:

warning: Error parsing sites/all/modules/pivots-5.x-2.1/pivots/forum/pivots_forum.info on line 3 in C:\apache2triad\htdocs\project\Mysupersite\includes\module.inc on line 195.

I'm badly in need to get it working...Can you please help?

I have tried with partial success to emulate your bug.
At the first time, i didn't enable the modules in the correct order and i get an error similar to yours.
Then i enabled the modules in the proper order and it works fine: In the first place "Forum" and "Pivots API" and then in the second place "Conversation pivots" and " Double pivots".
I did that in Drupal 5.8
Anyway, there is a bug there and i hope someone can take a look at it

Yes, just as francort mentioned, please enable the core pivots module first, and then enable the other modules.
It is an existing bug. Sorry about that. I'm now focusing most of my attention on developing a tailored version for Drupal.org. And I will fix that later.

I enabled in the right order as mentioned, but I stil get the error. Nevertheless I went ahead and created pivots...currently I have forum module enabled (but with one or 2 posts).

I wanted it to check mainly node to node pivots. I created the pivot and added it as a block in the sidebar. But nothing shows up (not even the title of the block). Where am I going wrong..

Update: I see that you have done nice work on drupal.org. When I'm browsing certain nodes, I see similar nodes (of a particular content type). This functionality will greatly help....

Thank you deadlyminds for the comment! I'm now spending most time developing a customized version of the pivots module to D.O. I hope to spend more time on maintaining the general purpose version of the module soon. Sorry for not being able to maintain it responsively. I'll keep you noticed when the new release gets published.
