nigelcunningham commentedI'm starting work on a D8 module to implement revisions and moderation. @pjcdawkins, would you be willing to make me a co-maintainer so I can push to a 8.x branch instead of making my own module?
nigelcunningham commentedhttps://www.drupal.org/project/config_entity_revisions is a project I've created supporting revisions and moderation for config entities. It's still work in progress - webform submissions don't yet have a reference to the version of the webform used to create them, but I'd appreciate testing and feedback on the work so far.

tlthades commentedNigelCunningham, can you record a video to show how to use your module? For example, configure functions in a manner similar to Webform Workflow 7.x?
TrinityDan+1 for the Drupal 8 port request. I've been left looking for other options for a new Drupal 8 site but for my needs I've found nothing that matches the simplicity or efficiency of creating workflows with Webform Workflow.

j_s commentedIt'd be great to have it ported to Drupal 8!

beunerd commentedJust wanted to follow up here, that we're also looking to apply workflow states to webforms--as this original D7 module had been designed to do. I tried config_entity_revisions as an alternative (not a port), but I think the hangup is that 'webform submissions don't yet have a reference to the version of the webform used to create them'. In other words, we are looking for a solution that applies the workflow state and transitions to the webform submission, not the webform config entity. For more, see https://www.drupal.org/project/config_entity_revisions/issues/3143528
Comment #12
nigelcunningham commentedThat's sort of right - submissions do now have a reference to the version of the webform, but it sounds to me from that last sentence like you're after revisioning of the submissions rather than the webforms.
@TLTHades, sorry for the long delay - I did a presentation at Drupal South Canberra. Perhaps that might help?

mlncn commentedHi Nigel, that's the point— Webform Workflow, in Drupal 7, "allows assigning workflow 'states' to webform submissions."
Config Entity Revisions will never do that, correct? So it's confusing to have it mentioned as a possible successor module in Webform Workflow's Drupal 8 port issue.
nigelcunningham commentedYeah - I think I misunderstood the point to Webform Workflow to begin with.

maxwellkeeble commentedJust following up on this after a long time - the first dev release of a solution for D8 for the workflows issue is now up at
https://drupal.org/project/webform_workflows_element
It's essentially a standard webform element which hooks in to the core Workflows module - exploiting the handy composite element stuff from webform, and the existing states-transitions UI for workflows. Then it works with normal element access, plus per-transition access, and I've hacked a way to filter the results view.
Would appreciate review, feedback or comments!

tlthades commentedHi @maxwellkeeble!
I finally tested your module and at first glance it seems to do the job just fine. Thanks to you, I'm porting the site from D7 to D9 right now. The only feature I couldn't find is the D7 setting:
"Set submissions to the first state after editing" (Enable this to move submissions to the first state after editing)
How can this functionality be achieved in webform_workflows_element?
