Alluuu commentedIt's a bit difficult for me what you're trying to ask but I'll try to answer the best I can:
Drupal 8 core standalone without additional modules would take a lot of work to be turned into an ecommerce site, that's what you have Drupal Commerce for.
Drupal Commerce 2.x with Drupal 8 core and some other dependencies is sufficient to build an ecommerce site. If you have shippable products, you'll also need the commerce shipping module and payments modules for payments.
Another option for a simpler ecommerce solution not requiring all the features commerce comes with is just building a Drupal 8 site with the Payment module.
commerce 2.x is still in beta right now.

oorb22oo commentedthanks for answering my question..
actually i'm trying to make the site using commerce 2x, but all the module i need is not available, like stocks, shipping, and other thing that give me headache.
But how about using drupal 7? i know commerce 1x is more stable than the commerce 2, but is that the right thing to do to make full functional ecommerce site?
thanks in advance.. have a good day

tormu commentedHi! My personal opinion after launching one D8 Commerce site is...
Go with D8 + Commerce if
* you are capable and willing to do Drupal 8 development
* you are making the site to live long and actively develop it
And D7 + Commerce if
* you just want to enable modules and configure them and want to have minimal coding
* you are in a hurry to get the shop live and don't have the coders to do it
* you are happy with choosing "the old version" ;)
In our case we had to make totally custom implementations for handling taxes (commerce_tax will be in Commerce core "soon") and product availability (commerce_stock will be a contrib but not yet ready, https://www.drupal.org/node/2613248), we didn't need shipping so that was good.

agoradesign commentedRegarding shipping: there's already beta1 for commerce_shipping. Don't get scared off by the word "beta". Commerce mastermind @bojanz was lead developer for this too. That usually means rock-solid architecture, high code quality and lots of unit tests. The new commerce_shipping has a lot more features than the D7 ever had. Adding custom shipping methods should also be easier than ever

stevo70 commentedWhat about importing products and variations? I have 200 products and several variations for each product. How will we handle this in D8 at this point?
mglamanNo patch, changing status.
About importing products, 200 is very easy. We import thousands to a different site. A boilerplate of migration import from CSV can be found at https://github.com/mglaman/commerce_demo
Comment #9
stevo70 commentedAre variations just entity relationships maintained by the products nid? (Sorry didn't mean to keep changing status).
mglamanKeeping at active. Status reflects code in an issue (like a patch to be reviewed) https://www.drupal.org/node/156119
I recommend reviewing our documentation on products http://docs.drupalcommerce.org/v2/product/index.html. A product is a collection of variations which define the purchaseable "things"

bojanz commented#5 is a great response, thanks tormu.

mh.marouan commentedActually, I develop a site with drupal commerce 2.
You must develop functionalities: tax, stock, shipping, payment
I agree with @tormu

I am also building a Commerce 2 site with Drupal 8. As far as I understand so far there are shipping and payment (maybe only with Braintree) modules. I saw a presentation from Commerce Guys where they talked about tax, but I am not so concerned with that a the moment so didnt take a lot in. Sounds like there is something there though. Having used Commerce 1 on Drupal 7, the workflow improvements are really sweet. I think that some, maybe a lot, of the commerce extra modules will become redundant because of the way its structured to incorporate the functionality in another way. The only two issues I have found so far from out of the box solutions are that I think if you want 'Add to cart' on every product on a product list (a view of products) you will need to code it, or wait for it to come along. Also, I have been struggling with the layout of a single product using Display suite, its not clear what to do or if it actually works. Apart from that, I think its a fantastic effort.
bojanz commentedYes, shipping is functional, and supports flat rates. The FedEx module is also progressing well.
There are 17 known payment gateways right now.
From Commerce Guys: Braintree, Stripe, Paymill, Authorize.net, Ingenico, Paypal (still buggy)
From the community: Paytrail, Payplug, PayU Money, CC Avenue, Migs Merchant, Alipay, WeChat Pay, Worldline (ex Atos), Vantiv
Still sandboxes: PayOn, PromisePay.
Source: #2845500: Release 2.0-RC1.
EDIT: Added 3 more

Anonymous (not verified) commentedAh great. Thanks for that Bojan. As an aside, I tried to install the Payment module. But it broke the site.
bojanz commentedAssuming you mean this Payment module. It has nothing to do with Commerce or our payment gateways.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedYeah thats the one. I just thought I would mention it in case someone else goes down the same route.
