I think the best way for this to go forward is for it to be included along with path auto. I've been talking with greggles and he thinks it would be a nice addition. Some hurdles are that Views2 is very different from Views1 and integrating into another module has to be done with care. So thats where a D6 version of view alias now stands.

Ok, its out in the wild.. see if this works for you. It's a beta for now, I still have to add the recurring stuff for taxonomy changes, but pulling the info from views fried my head for a bit so I decided to break for a day or two ;)

If you find anything, just add an issue.
