There is a movement afoot to add a README.txt to every theme.

Things that should be in a theme README are something like the following:

  • Repeat what is in the theme info file.
  • Explain the theme's overall features and purpose.
  • Link to more documentation specific to the theme.
  • Link to documentation about Drupal theming.
