I use both Win10 and Ubuntu.

Today I used the Win10 machine to add some content and seemingly because of a Windows bug, my PC restarted without notifying (never happened to me in 20 years with this OS).

This just 1 example of why we need a Gmail-like/Wordpress-like, auto save system, for node edition.

Please add this to core and rid all Drupalers of such node data loss once and for all. Adding it could also serve as solution for this long-reported problem.

This would be a most practical and honorable contribution and I would have done so if I had the knowledge, for no charge.

#153313: ckeditor input is lost when using the browser's back button has much valuable discussion of this very issue.

We can't just make things happening by opening a new issue; without a patch or some research, this new issue has nothing to add, therefore I'm suggesting to close it as duplicate.

I agree, it would be great to see this in core as soon as possible.

This issue caused me to open #2801845: Triage core feature requests, plans, and tasks for inclusion on the ideas queue, which is now the place for ideas to form. But this is a duplicate of #153313: ckeditor input is lost when using the browser's back button, so it doesn't need to exist.

jonathanjfshaw, I did not assume that opening this thread would just make this (or any other feature request I ever enlisted) of happening.

It was a redundant sentence. You could write basically the same answer without it and it was better.

Cilefen, you are most welcome deleting this.

@Benia you're right, I apologise. And I found some interesting modules because you opened this issue, so thank you.

I love the idea of autosave and the users and my organization would love it, too. Sorry I can't help make it happen!
