Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
This issue has been reformed to create the basic 8.x-1.x branch and get some code in there.
To create a release, we will need a follow up “release” issue and I’ll be requiring tests as part of that.

rachel_norfolkIf I get chance at DrupalCon in Dublin, I'd like to do a port there. It shouldn't be too difficult, tbh
And we're not guys. :-)
joebotAre there still plans for this? I have a need for this on a project in the near future, and will be happy to help out with a D8 port if one doesn't already exist, but didn't want to duplicate effort :)

rachel_norfolkOh I'm so sorry! I was planing to do this in Dublin and then was asked to get involved as a Sprint Lead at the event - it took about 110% of my time!
Very happy for either of us to make a start at this. I totally forgot. My apologies.

rachel_norfolkHi - just to let you know I am reviewing your code - will probably be the weekend before I add it, though.
rachel_norfolkActually, I’ve created the branch now so do you want to make your zip file into a patch against that branch, please?
Thanks

rachel_norfolkRight - that looks a good starter - thank you!
I think what we should do is commit this to get the dev branch up and running and then have a couple of follow up issues to get a release out. I would really love to see some tests to show it does actually add the live chat functionality etc etc.

rachel_norfolkThank you for the work so far - we have D8 code!! \o/
Now, to get a full release, we need to move on to https://www.drupal.org/node/2877290

Edit: livechat appears to have been bought out, so relevant accounts for me need upgrading. Looking for open source alternative.
