I like to place an image on home page that zooms in and out by itself. How can I do it?

Intermedia. Since intermedia includes GSAP, you just create an intermedia script to instruct the GSAP to zoom the image(s) and or video(s) the way you want.

Intermedia exists in a number of modules on both drupal 7 and drupal 8. Based on your original question and since you indicate unfamiliarity I'd recommend beginning with GSAP and Mozilla's POPCORN
