Beta1 means an upgrade path, so we want to do most of our schema changes before then.
That means ensuring we support translations and revisions on products, having full permissions on all entity types.
Plus, we need payments and pricing.

It's hard to get a good idea of exactly where it's as as this thread seems to be the most up-to-date information and yet hasn't been updated for a few months. I'm willing to contribute anything I can to help resolve any remaining beta1 blockers either in commerce or any of its dependencies, but I don't have a good picture of exactly what's left now.

The main focus of the previous months has been payments, which are now in.
I will be releasing the last alpha in the next couple of days, then focusing on the last beta blockers.
The main task will be merging the discount branch (discounts&coupons UI).
So far I've reviewed and committed dozens of patches and pull requests, once I'm done with that I will extend the beta blocker list with whatever payment/pricing work didn't make it into the alpha.
