It would be great to have the possibility to define how long the cookie should remain before expiration.

My suggestion is to add a setting in the admin form and pass it as JS settings so it can be used when the cookie is set.

This is a duplicate of #2364029: Configurable cookie lifetime. The feature is already in the dev-branch, and will be in the beta of 7.15.
