I get this error when I activate the ImageAPI module:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imageapi_get_available_toolkits() in /home/mysite/public_html/modules/imagecache/imagecache.install on line 13

If you're activating multiple modules at once, try hitting 'back' and then unchecking all the modules *except* ImageAPI. Then go back and add the other ones that are dependent on it. See if that works (worked for me!)

try the 5.x-1.2 release. there were a couple of changes that should help this.
