I humbly suggest uploading this module as it could save so much time especially when someone moves from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8 and needs to work with another similar module and copy all links manually in each page (No one can promise, I guess, that a similar situation won't happen in Drupal 9).
Now when CKeditor is part of the core, and has become very minimalist (I love it !), I think is the right time co add it to the core:
There is no discussion between SEOers that non-boilerplate internal-links are very important to direct-SEO and UX.
"Naturally-Selecting" Drupalists to work without this module can be very problematic: Not everyone know of the existence of the module and building non-boilerplate internal links in non-relative, and thus non-flexible, bad ways, and can be especially problematic in cases a domain and or a TLD is changed, and there is no suitable redirecting mechanism.
I believe these are sufficient reasons to humbly offer this to the developers, which I so admire their work,

wim leersThis is a duplicate of #2292159: EditorLinkDialog should validate URLs, and autocomplete like the Link widget.
