Hi there. Thank you for reading.
We are having an issue with our vendor for the RETS feed, and I don't trust what they are telling me. I wont bore you with the details.. but it comes down to them saying that they only just recently added "solds" to their feed.
Does this make sense? The site has been working for awhile with Drealty, and I assumed the "solds" needed to come through the feed in order to mark the properties inactive.
My question is simply how does Drealty know to change the active status on a listing? I would have thought it read the status as anything that is not active or under contract and updated the status of the listing to inactive. Does it instead have an expiration date on the listing and remove it if it is not in the feed for awhile?
I have been using the "Offset Not Supported (Query based on RETS Key) " option if that helps.
Thanks for your help and insight. This will help me when I either go back at the vendor... or roll up my sleeves and modify Drealty.

MacSaveNy commentedTLDR... How does DRealty change the active status of a listing? I just need the general algorithm...

DrupalRanger commentedI don't have an algorithm, but I have a fairly good understanding of dRealty. The active status has nothing to do with the Property Status field. drealty Active is a boolean field that is 1 for active and 0 for inactive. Inactive means that the record no longer fits the criteria of the connection stream. There is a setting in dRealty Admin panel that asks how often to check if a listing still meets the Query Criteria. This determines how long inactive records stay on the site. Once the record is set to inactive the RETS-PURGE-INACTIVE script cleans them out.
As for your RETS provider saying they just recently started providing SOLD properties, they are probably referring to the MLS's IDX feed, not their RETS feed. These are different services, so make sure you tell them you are using a RETS feed, not an IDX. IDX feeds allow Agents to place a iFrame in their websites so their visitors can search the current MLS, the search is provided by a third party, not programmed into the Agents website. Most MLS's do not allow the general public to search Sold properties.
This is my general understanding of how dRealty works.
