Add support for responsive images

Let's keep this issue open for now and see if we can get more suggestions or patches here.

I would recommend going with the project https://www.drupal.org/project/imagecache_external in case you need an external image link to work with image styles as well. There isn't any plan to further develop this module and I would update the same on the project page as well.
