Crell commentedWe discussed this on the UX call today and were generally +1.
Crell commentedHm, clarification: Are we talking about:
1) A "use any transition" permission? This is dead simple but a bit redundant, since the admin role has all transition permissions anyway.
2) A "transition to any state" permission? This may be a bit trickier, especially if we change the UI to use transition names rather than state names. And by simply creating the appropriate transitions, even if no one is given access to them, the admin role would get access to them anyway.
Given that, is this issue not about a permission but rather about including more default transitions, from Draft to Published?
becw commentedWhen we talked about this issue, I think the solution we discussed was to add a default transition from draft -> published.
Crell commentedWorking...
Crell commentedWhere's Amy's "Easy" button?
becw commentedYep, that's what I was thinking. I'll merge when testbot shows green.
Crell commentedIt helps to update the tests, too.
(FYI, I had to rebase the branch but it's been repushed.)
becw commentedOk, looks good. I've merged the patch from #16.
There's another open branch related to this issue,
2651152-transition-perm, which adds a "use any transition" permission. Is that something we want to add, too?Comment #20
Crell commentedNo, that was a previous stillborn attempt. We can trash it.
becw commentedOk, I cleaned up the branch.
