This module is excellent and is working great. However, I'm trying to parse a feed that contains a source field. I have confirmed that the field is present in the rss feed for each item, and appears to be properly formatted, but for some reason it is being completely ignored by the feeds module. Here is the URL of the feed in question:
https://app.meltwater.com/gyda/outputs/565ccdf2e1974c318b73a426/renderin...
When I paste this URL into Firefox or IE, they also do not display the contents of that field, although I can see it in the source code. Is there something special about the source field? Can anyone suggest something I can do to make the feeds module display the contents of that field and map it to the content type?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

megachrizI haven't looked at your feed yet (got to go in a minute), but you could check if your mapping is right and what Feeds is trying to import with the Feeds import preview module. This module allows you to see what your source looks like after it has been parsed.
Maybe that gives you a hint on the issue.

megachrizIt appears to be that Feeds doesn't provide the element "source" as a mapping source, although that element is defined in the spec: http://www.rssboard.org/rss-specification
The source element consists of two things:
The attached patch adds a mapping sources for both.
This should have an automated test, so tagging this issue with "Needs tests".

megachriz@OWast Thanks for trying.
Here is a patch with an automated test. If that test passes, then this is ready for commit!

tomsherlock commentedThis element, item-source appears to be different from the element that I am interested in adding: dc: source.
Scoop.it rss.xml feeds are my primary source (no pun intended) for this lacking element.
A Scoop.it rss.xml feed has the following elements
And then each
<item>has the following elements:<source></source>has the property, url.has the properties medium and url
I am specifically interested in the element
<dc:source>. Notice that there are three elements with the 'dc' prefix This stands for Dublin Core. Please See http://dublincore.org/documents/2012/06/14/dcmi-terms/?v=elements#sourceWhile Scoop.it supports
<source url>is does not seem to support<source title>.I suspect that I should post my request as a separate issue.
