Problem/Motivation
Examples needs a roadmap for dealing with its Drupal 6 and Drupal 7 versions.
This issue is that roadmap, which can be amended by anyone with a stake in the maintenance of those branches.
Please add comments and/or amend this issue if you are willing to take on maintenance of a branch.
Proposed resolution
Drupal 6 - 6.x-1.x
Drupal 6 is officially past its end-of-life date, based on the release of Drupal 8.
The Drupal 6 branch of Examples will be minimally maintained. Patches are welcome but review and commits will take the absolute lowest priority.
The branch will remain for historical reasons, and so that it's still available on api.drupal.org.
6.x-1.x issues will be closed down, such that feature requests and postponed issues will be marked CWF. Any issue with a patch will be left active with no promises.
Drupal 7 - 7.x-1.x
The Drupal 7 branch of Examples will be actively maintained, but with a lower priority than the Drupal 8 branch.
7.x-1.x issues will be minimized, closing feature requests, and issues with no patches marked as 'maintainer needs info.'
