Database update failure

When I run /update.php ...

I get the following message

 Failed: DatabaseSchemaObjectDoesNotExistException: Cannot add field node_convert_templates.machine_name: table doesn't exist. in DatabaseSchema_mysql->addField() (line 325 of /home/mysite/public_html/includes/database/mysql/schema.inc).

I get this with D7.38 and NodeConvert 7.x-1.2 dated 2014-Jun-12 and also NodeConvert 7.x-1.x-devdated 2015-Aug-24.

This all means I cannot do any batch conversions, just one node at a time.
