Variable module implements this hook so its own hooks can be implemented in a .inc file.
Variable Realm module should do the same for hook_variable_realm_info().

Thanks for the patch!

I would have put the group as 'variable', so the hook implementations go in the MODULE.variable.inc file along with Variable module's hooks.
