search_excerpt() returns a render array

search_excerpt() use to return markup in a string and add it to the safe list using the SafeMarkup functions. Now it returns a render array. If you are adding the output to a render array you don't need to do anything. If you need to the output as string then use the renderer to render it, however early rendering is not recommended and code should be refactored to pass the output into a render array.
