I think host save is not necessary for update migrations, is it?

My field-collection update migration is 10 times faster with skip host-save.

There could be one downside with not saving host entities: the host entity's cache won't be cleared. There probably should be a cache clear for all updated items in the post-import hook. Any idea which caches should be cleared and how?
